When you hire a skip bin in Brisbane it comes with serious responsibilities. The first is not to overload it. We cannot collect overloaded skip bins because we take great pride in meeting our obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law & Regulations – and our duty to protect the safety of not just our drivers, but all other road users. The second is to understand what types of waste we can accept, including waste to landfill at additional cost. And the third is to make sure your skip bin does not have prohibited waste in it.
Evenly distribute heavy and light items throughout the bin. And maintain a safe distance from the skip bin at all times during delivery and collection. All of the following waste items can go in your skip bin and carefully separated to maximise recycling and minimise waste to landfill.
Remember – DO NOT fill your skip bin above the rim.
If found in your skip bin upon collection, additional charges will apply to remove and remediate prohibited waste where relevant. If found in your skip bin upon waste separation and transfer, financial and civil penalties may apply.
Once separated, waste is classified and removed to approved landfill and/or cleanfill sites, as well as to experienced and qualified secondary market processors in metropolitan and suburban Brisbane locations, including (but not limited to):
SKIPZ Brisbane Waste Transfer Stations feature certified weighbridges and maintain fully auditable accounts of incoming and outgoing waste streams.
With a diversion rate between 90-100%, we employ a comprehensive waste docketing system, including records and reports to track all materials received, sorted and processed (including rejected loads).
Local Councils in the Brisbane metro area don’t require permits if the skip bin you’ve hired is located on private property. However, you may need a Local Council permit if the skip bin is located on the street or nature strip adjacent to your property. As part of our Brisbane skip bin booking service SKIPZ Recycling will organise a permit if it’s required and any additional fees will apply where relevant.
Read our standard booking terms and conditions that will apply once your Brisbane skip bin hire agreement is confirmed.
