This proposal and quote are valid for 30 days from date of issue.

 

  1. Office Bins

Front lift/Rear lift bins will incur a delivery/removal fee – $385.00.

Extra charges may apply if bins are removed with waste in them.

Extra charges may apply if bins are damaged (e.g. broken wheels etc).

Each site bin will incur a $385 delivery/pick-up fee.

 

  1. Bulk Bins – Commercial

Extra charges will apply if:

(a) bins are damaged (e.g. tailgate doors, hook blocks etc).

(b) bins contain ‘non-recyclable waste’(Refer Item 5(b) below).

(c) bins contain ‘Prohibited waste’ (Refer Item 5 (a) below).

Hire period: Unless otherwise agreed by SKIPZ, bins that have not been serviced can remain on-site for a maximum of 4 days. Bins may be picked up on-site after 4 days at SKIPZ’s discretion. Where bins are required to remain on-site for a period longer than 4 days, please notify us on 1300 335 822. Alternatively, a SKIPZ representative will contact you about extra charges associated with extending the hire period.

 

  1. Bin Tarps

Bin tarpaulins can be purchased and are available upon request.

 

  1. Mandatory Bin Requirements

Do not overfill any Bin above the rim.

 

Do overload the bin, each bin has an SWL and you should make sure that this SWL is not exceeded.

Do not load any prohibited items in the bin

 

  1. Waste Categories

(a) Prohibited Items

Prohibited items are items that should never be placed in any Bulk Waste Bin and if they are identified during the recycling process additional fines and charges of $400 per tonne and $1000 re-loading fee may apply per bin found to have:

 

  1. Reportable Priority (Prescribed Waste) such as Asbestos, Silica Dust and other contaminated waste
  2. Dangerous Goods such as Gas Cylinders, Fire Extinguishers, Lithium-ion Batteries (including toys and equipment containing lithium-ion batteries) and Chemicals,
  3. Liquids such as paints and oils
  4. Medical and Biological Waste

 

(b) Non-Recyclable Items

  1. Rubber including excavator tracks, tyres etc
  2. Mattresses
  3. Carpet
  4. Synthetic Grass, Astro Turf
  5. Polystyrene and Foam including packaging
  6. Green Waste and noxious weeds
  7. Food, liquids and Putrescible Waste

 

(c) General Waste

All general waste not otherwise classified including any mixed building and construction waste, furniture, appliances and metals, plastics etc.

 

  1. Silica Dust & E.P.A Regulated Items

Silica Dust & E.P.A Regulated items require greater care when disposing of such materials. Correct P.P.E, licensed drivers, licensed trucks, disposing at correct facilities and certificates classifying waste will be required.

This in line with E.P.A regulations and guidelines.

  1. Recycling Reports

Recycling Reports are available upon request or as otherwise agreed and will be issued monthly.

 

  1. Recycling Centres

GSW, VENM and ENM can only be accepted with a characterisation report.

Once waste material is received and a weighbridge ticket issued and signed by a driver/company representative, the waste material type on the docket will be invoiced. Any discrepancies must be dealt with onsite at the time of delivery when the load can be clearly seen.

 

  1. General Terms
  • The Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) has specific Chain of Responsibility provisions which apply to you as a packer, loader or consignor of skip bins. It is a breach of the Heavy Vehicle National Law and therefore illegal to transport any overloaded (bin filled above the line) &/or overweight bins.

The client is responsible for any costs incurred due to Asbestos or other contaminates being placed in a bin without authorization. The client is liable to pay any extra costs incurred by the owner, as a result of overloading, incorrect loading or load contamination by the client, his agent or other person(s) whilst the bin in on the client’s premises or under his control.

  • Additional and complementary to the HVNL noted in 8(a) above the Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code also applies to our transport operations and therefore the contents of our Bins. It is for this reason that Dangerous Goods are prohibited items in General Waste Bins, these loads when transported must comply with the ADG Code.   • Furthermore the Environment Protection Act and Regulations also apply to Reportable Priority (Prescribed) Waste, while Reportable Priority (Prescribed) waste is prohibited from general waste bins, Talk to us about our specific services that we can provide that are compliant with these Acts and Regulations
  • Damages to bins incurred during the hiring period will attract additional charges.
  • The placement, loading and pick-up of the bins are under the direct orders and control of the client and the client indemnifies the owner against any loss, damage or injury as a result of the function performed. The client is responsible for any damage incurred to property whilst loading and unloading bins. Bins must not be removed once they have been placed on site.
  • Bin relocation/movement/cancellation will incur additional charges.
  • Bins cannot be moved/relocated using unapproved methods.
  • SKIPZ Recycling recognises Section C of the National Transport Commission (NTC) Load Restraint Guide 2004 2018 and the Work Health & Safety Act Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004 (VIC) and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2018 (VIC) Regulation 2011  or Work Health and Safety Act and Regulation 2011 (QLD) in safe work practices, bin weights and safe working loads and load restraint. As a result, company specified ‘bin fill lines’ and weight limits must be adhered to in all circumstances.
  • Drivers have the legal responsibility, the discretion and right to refuse to load &/or transport any bin they consider overweight, that they are unable to appropriately ‘restrain’ or otherwise transport safely  in accordance with applicable legislation, RMS/VicRoads, industry guidelines and company policies.

 

All prices are GST exclusive and subject to Government Impost and EPA Levy increases.

 

  1. Additional Charges/Waiting Times

 

ADDITIONAL CHARGES APPLY FOR:

  • Attending calls where access is not provided to bins
  • Overloaded (bind loaded above the rim) or overweight bins (Bins loaded above the SWL)
  • Damage to bins occurring while on site
  • Recycle loads contaminated with rubbish
  • Loads containing prohibited waste or non-recyclable waste as defined in section 5 (a) and (b) above (This may include the cost of any penalties incurred).
  • Extended bin hire (exceeding 4 days)
  • Construction waste in general waste bins

 

Additional charges will apply once our driver have exceeded 30 minutes on customer’s site. $150.00 will be charged if we are on site over 30 minutes.

 

  1. Hours of Operation

Office – Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 5:00pm, Saturdays from 6:00am to 2:30pm.

Skip Bins – Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 5:00pm, Saturdays from 6:00am to 2:30pm.

Recycling Centres – Monday to Friday 6:00am to 5:00pm, Saturdays from 6am to 2:00pm

After hours services can be negotiated at additional cost.

 

  1. Bookings & Payment Terms

Bookings can be made by calling 1300 335 822, Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 5:00pm and Saturdays from 6:00am to 2:30pm.

Same day delivery/changeover is prioritised if the order is placed before 10:00am that day.

AM delivery bookings need to be made by 1:00pm the day before/prior.

SKIPZ Recycling offers an account payment facility for approved applicants only.

Payment outside of terms or non-payment of accounts may be claimed under the Building & Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002 VIC, or as the case may be.

 

  1. Waste Definitions
  • Construction & Demolition Waste (C&D, C&D Waste) is any waste relating to the construction or demolition of a building, facility or otherwise.
  • General Waste is items that are not recyclable or hazardous (i.e., cups, pens, pencils, napkins, disposable utensils, straws, food waste, plastic bags, packaging, and wrappers) or within the definition of C&D Waste.
